At the April 1, 2008 City of Alameda City Council Meeting, California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary, A.G. Kawamura, was asked by a City of Alameda Councilmember if farmworkers would be allowed to be in the field when the LBAM pesticide chemicals were sprayed. A.G. Kawamura answered the Councilmember's question with, "NO." At that point, the attendees cheered and applauded at the answer they finally got from Kawamura. Kawamura's answer may be the most honest thing you will ever hear from him.
