Dear BPM,
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on this post and for sharing this information about the permethian.

I am so sorry for the distress this is putting both you and your daughter in. Countless lives are being turned upside down. I was speaking with a woman recently who told me that many people have left Santa Cruz - sold their homes and bought RVs so that they can live on the road, running away from the spray.

Not since the dustbowl has an event in America turned its own citizens into refugees on this scale. At least the dustbowl was along the lines of a natural disaster. The fact that our government is creating this disaster for profit is just unforgivable.

We are living with fear, but also a desperate hope that the spraying can be stopped. I took the time to read the 94 page report that has been assembled by a team of independent scientists, doctors and humanitarians and I recommend everyone read it:

Like you, we are hoping and praying that the humane side of human nature will win the day. Keep hoping.
Thank you again for commenting.

I also live in the San Francisco Bay Area region (City of Fremont). Every word in this article is true. My daughter attends the University of California, Santa Cruz. Although her campus was not sprayed in the fall of 2007, the majority of the City of Santa Cruz was and there have been hundreds of people reporting substantial medical effects from the pesticide aerial spraying.

The article failed to mention that there will also be ground spraying with permethian, a highly toxic pesticide, which will be sprayed both on public and private properties. Yes, you got it. They plan to ground spray our properties with highly toxic permethian, which is deadly to birds and cats.

The San Francisco Bay Area's residents (10 million people+) are screaming at the top of our lungs about this terrible situation. This is madness.

The pesticide aerial spraying resumes in Monterey and Santa Cruz on or about June 1, 2008 then moves north to the northern San Francisco Bay Area Region later in the summer.

My daughter's campus will be sprayed this time and she will be coming home to avoid the spray since Fremont is not on the 2008 aerial pesticide spray schedule but probably will be for 2009.

People in the San Francisco Bay Area Region are living in fear and hoping our Governor will stop this insanity.

The question is will California's Governor known as the "Terminator" terminate us with the pesticide ground and aerial spray, which appears to be he will.

CASS (CA Alliance to Stop the Spray) is a non-profit organization and an alliance of several anti-aerial pesticide spray groups. CASS provides an organizational vehicle by which hundreds of residents of the state actively work together to protect their inalienable rights not have their persons, property and the environment sprayed with chemicals or any other substance.
